Valentines Rice Krispie Heart Pops

Instructions

  • In a microwave safe bowl, melt the candy melts until melted and smooth (about two minutes). It is important that you stop the microwave every 30 seconds to stir the melts to ensure that the melt evenly and that they do not burn.
    Carefully transfer the melted chocolate into the cavities of the molds. You will not use all of the melted chocolate here as you will need to coat the backends later on. You can use the back of a spoon or a pastry brush to evenly spread out the chocolate over the molds. Then place the molds into the freezer (using the tray or sheet to transfer with) until the chocolate is set (about 15 minutes).

  • Give a clean microwave safe bowl a quick spray with nonstick. Then add the butter and the marshmallows to the bowl and heat on high for two minutes. Carefully stir the ingredients and then continue to microwave for another minute.
    Remove the combined ingredients from the heat an stir in the food coloring and any optional extract for flavor. Then stir in the rice cereal and sprinkle

  • Take the set molds out of the freezer. Carefully place a layer of the marshmallow and krispie mixture into each mold. Then place the popsicle stick about halfway into the heart (depending on how large your stick is as you will need enough room to hold the stick with your hand).Continue carefully pressing the remaining cereal mixture into the heart molds, securing the stick in place. Then cover the hearts with the remaining melted candy melts.
    Place the molds bake into the freezer to set (about 10 minutes).Carefully peel the molds away from the pops and finish decorating the hearts as desired.
