Instructions

  •  Prepare the apples as indicated in article. Remove the skin and core and slice into wedges. Also, beat your eggs in a shallow bowl.
Preheat your air fryer to 320 and lightly prep the basket as needed for nonstick. In a second shallow bowl, use a whisk or a fork to blend together the pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, flour, and sugar. Place this bowl next to the bowl with the eggs and close to the air fryer.
  •  Use a fork to pick up the first slice of apple and dredge it through the bowl with the flour and dry ingredients. Give the apple a quick shake over the dry bowl to release the extra ingredients and then dip the apple in the bowl with the egg. Again, give the apple a quick shake to release any extra egg and then repeat dipping the apple in the dry ingredients, shaking off the extra dry ingredients. Place the covered apple slice in the basket of the air fryer and repeat.
  • When the basket is full, yet there is room between each apple slice, air fry the apples for six minutes, flip the apple slices over and continue to air fry until done (about six to seven minutes more). If you cannon fit all of the apple slices in the basket you can easily make a second batch of apple fries.
Allow the apple fries to cool enough to eat. You can sprinkle the fries with additional cinnamon or sugar. Serve alone or with a caramel dip on the side.
