Prepare. Preheat your oven to 350f. Also, prep your baking sheet(s) for nonstick. Parchment paper or a baking mat should work in this recipe.
Combine. Beat together the cake mix, melted butter, and eggs until combined. Then use a rubber spatula or similar item to fold in a half cup of the pretzel pieces and ¾ cup chocolate chips .
Scoop. Use a medium sized cookie scoop to scoop out the dough and then place the scooped out pieces on to your prepared baking sheets about two inches apart from one another.
Press. Use the palm of your hand or the bottom of a sturdy glass to press the cookies down until flat- about a half in tall. If things become sticky you can use a bit of nonstick spray on the bottom of the glass. Then press the remaining chocolate chips and pretzel pieces into the tops of the cookies
Bake. Bake the cookies for eight to 10 minutes or until the edges appear to be set and the center looks soft and a bit puffy. Then allow the cookies to finish setting on the warm cookie sheet for five minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to finish cooling.
Drizzle. To make the drizzle topping, place the peanut butter chips into a microwave safe bowl along with the vegetable shortening. Microwave the ingredients for a minute, stopping to carefully stir after 30 seconds. Carefully remove the mixture from the microwave and stir to combine the melted ingredients. Then transfer the ingredients to a piping bag, plastic bag with a corner cut, or simply use a spoon to drizzle the melted ingredients over your cooled cookies.
Set. Allow the drizzled topping to set before serving.
