Start by preheating your oven to 350 and prepping your baking sheets with parchment paper.
Use a whisk to combine together the flour, baking soda, and optional salt in a medium bowl.
In a mixing bowl, beat together your butter with your sugars until creamy. Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl and then mix in the eggs, milk and vanilla until combined.
Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl and then add the dry ingredients from your first bowl to your mixing bowl. Mix this until just combined.
Use a rubber spatula or similar utensil to fold in the chocolate chips and granola.
Lastly, use a cookie scoop (medium used for my cookies) to scoop out the cookie dough and place the cookies about an inch and half to two inches apart (they will spread while baking).
Bake the cookies until the edges begin to brown (about 10 minutes). Then allow the cookies to sit on the sheets for five minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to completely cool.
