Ingredients needed to make chocolate chip cookies with granola.

    • Flour. All purpose flour was used to make my cookies.
    • Baking Soda. Gives these cookies a bit of leavening.
    • Butter. Your butter should be softened to room temperature for optimal blending. If you are using unsalted butter, add a half teaspoon of salt to your flour.
    • Brown Sugar. and Granulated Sugar. The brown sugar should be packed.
    • Eggs. The eggs should be at room temperature.
    • Milk. Added as a wet ingredient to balance out the granola. Whole milk also adds moisture to these cookies. An alternative such as oat milk or half and half can be used.
    • Vanilla Extract. Added for a flavor balance.
    • Granola. Use a fully prepared granola with the added ingredients to your liking.
    • Chocolate Chips. Semi-sweet or milk chocolate work well with the texture of these cookies.

Tips for making the best granola and chocolate cookies.

When selecting a granola to use, granola with chunks can be used for a more interesting texture and crunch in your cookies. You may however, need to break up larger chunks as they can bake faster than the rest of the cookie.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. For a chewier cookie, try using a granola made with rolled oats. You can also sub in a quarter cup of rolled oats for the flour.
    2. To make a cookie with even more flavors and textures, try selecting a granola that has dried fruit such as raisins.
    3. Sometimes granola with fewer or no chunks can yield a cookie that spreads a bit more. You can try to prevent this by refrigerating your dough for about a half hour.
    4. Instead of chocolate chips, try using another kind of chip such as peanut butter chips.
    5. For a more crisp or crunchy cookie, bake your cookies a bit longer and allow them to sit on the baking sheet to cool longer.
    6. Top your cookies with melted chocolate drizzled on top to make your cookies even prettier.
