What is special about Crumbl Cookies?
Crumbl cookies have not been around for a long time. However, they are are extremely popular cookies (somewhat thanks to social media).
Crumbl cookies are known for both their packaging and for the unique cookies.
These cookies are fresh baked, are made with quality ingredients, and with a rotating menu to keep our taste buds active. The packaging is equally unique to the product as the cookies are packaged in a pink oblong-shaped box.
Why are Oreo cookies so popular?.
Oreo cookies are possibly the most famous sandwich cookie around. This could be because of the taste which sometimes has to do with how you eat it (do you eat the cookie whole or do you pull it apart?) .
Oreo cookies are also a favorite for using in other recipes, such as this one.
This recipe uses the cookie parts. However, in my crust recipe, the entire cookie is used as is.
Tips for making frosted chocolate cookies such as this one.
Make sure that you get enough Oreo cookies to use in this recipe. There are 36 Oreo cookies in a standard package, 48 in the family size, and 63 in the party size package.
More tips for you
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet after removing them from the oven. This will allow them to get crisp enough to hold the frosting and stay intact.
- Use a cookie scoop to make the cookies as this will keep the cookies at a uniform size. I like a two tablespoon (medium) sized cookie scoop
- To get the true 'Crumbl' look you will need a piping bag fitted with a 10 or 12 tip. However, your cookie will taste the same and you may save some time by simply using a frosting spatula to spread the frosting on top instead.
- It is a good idea tp store these cookies in your refrigerator if you have leftovers.
Personalize these copycat cookies.
This cookies no only look like the original, they also taste great. You can however, make yours even better.
Try one of these ideas.
- Instead of using chocolate Oreos, use the Golden Oreos.

How to make Copycat Chocolate Crumbl Oreo Cookies
Step One: prepare.
Preheat your oven to 350. Prep two baking sheets with parchment paper.
To prepare the cookies, pull the cookies apart and then scoop out the filling.
Place the cookie filling into a bowl and the cookie part into a food processor. Process the cookies into crumbs. If you do not have a food processor, simply place the cookies into a zip top bag, seal the bag, and then use a rolling pin to crush the cookies into crumbs.
Step Two: make the cookies.
Place the Oreo cookie crumbs in a mixing bowl. Next, add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl and us a fork or a whisk to combine the dry ingredients together. Set this bowl aside.
Now, in mixing bowl on medium speed, cream together the the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. This may take a few minutes. Once fluffy, you can mix in the egg and vanilla extract. You may need to stop the mixer to scrape down the sides of the bowl. It is normal for the batter to appear thin at this point.
For this next step, we will add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the second bowl. Do this carefully and mix until incorporated.
Lastly, use a cookie scoop (two inch works best) to scoop the cookies and place them onto the prepared baking sheets. Using the palms of your hands, press the cookies to about a one inch thickness. Leave enough space between each cookie as well as they will spread while baking.
Tip: You may need to roll the scooped dough between your hands to get them round. Dust your hands first with a bit of flour to make this easier to do.
Bake the cookies for 15 minutes, Then, remove the baking sheets from the oven and allow the cookies to set on them for another 15 minutes to ensure that the cookies will stay intact when we remove them from the sheets.
Step 3: make the frosting and finish making the cookies.
- Center filling removed from the cookies.
- Cream Cheese- 8 ounces, softened to room temperature.
- Butter- ¼ cup, also softened to room temperature.
- Powdered Sugar- 2 cups.
To make the cream cheese frosting, beat together the center filling with the softened cream cheese and butter until creamy. Slowly mix in the powdered sugar. Then beat the frosting on high until fluffy (about four to five minutes) .
To frost the cookies, place the frosting in a piping bag fitted with a 10 or 12 tip. Starting in the center of the cookie, pipe a dot, without releasing pressure, pipe a tight circle around the dot, slightly above the cookie, allowing the icing to fall into place all the around it multiple times. Top with additional cookie pieces as desired.

These cookies should be stored in an airtight container. If properly stored, they should keep for about five days. However, since the topping is made with dairy products, I would refrigerate these cookies or add fresh topping before serving.
This cookie recipe was inspired by a recipe that included actual Oreo cookies. However, if you want to try another cookie, please make sure that the cookie is a similar sandwich cookie for best results.
If you want your cookies to look like mine, use a piping bag. But, if you do not care if your cookies look like mine or not, you can use a frosting knife or whatever you have on hand to simply place frosting on your cookies. I get it. 🙂
