Materials needed to make a balloon pumpkin craft.
- Orange Balloon (use a thick and round balloon).
- Polyester Fiber Fill.
- Jute Twine.
- Pencil.
- Green Felt.
- Black Marker.
How to make a Balloon Pumpkin.
Step 1. Use a safe object (such as a popsicle stick) to help you guide the polyester fiber fill into your balloon. You will need about a half cup of packed fiberfill to make a pumpkin such as the one in the image. Guide the fill to form a round pumpkin-like shape.
Step 2. Use a four to five inch piece of twin to tie the end of the balloon shut, wrapping the twine around the end several times. The cut off the excess twine and balloon.
Step 3. Cut off a foot long piece of jute twine and wrap it around the balloon lengthwise (as seen on the sides of this pumpkin). Do not cut the excess twine off yet.
Step 4. Make leaf drawings on the felt in the shape of leaves. Leave a stem on the leaves that you can use to tie the leaves on to the pumpkin with. Tip: try tracing real or artificial leaves for this. To attach the leaves, simply tie them to the pumpkin using the excess twine that you have from wrapping up the sided of the pumpkin.
Step 5. Simply decorate your pumpkin to finish it up as desired. Make a nose, eyes, mouth, ears, etc. using your marker.
