- Choose a variety of dessert but, without too many to choose from. For example, while most everyone may expect to see s'mores by a campfire, there are folks who would rather enjoy something else such as fruit.
- When selecting what to bring, take into consideration the temperature outside and how vulnerable the food may be to that food. If you are planning to bring something that can melt for example, make sure that you use take precautions such as a cooler with ice.
- While variety of food is important to any charcuterie board, having a common theme (such as a s'mores theme) is also important. This common theme can be used to tie everything together.
- Choose ingredients that are easy to eat with your hands or provide a simple way to enjoy it without using your hands. Skewers, toothpicks, and edible food holders such as cones for ice cream work well.

How to make to make a S'Mores Campfire Charcuterie Board.
- Carefully place the cast iron skillet over the campfire and let it heat up for a few minutes. If you are using the oven method, simple preheat your oven to 350.
- Break the chocolate bars into halves and then carefully place them into the cast iron skillet place so that they fully cover the bottom of the pan. The candy bars can overlap each other if necessary.
- Next, cover the chocolate bars in the cast iron skillet with the jumbo marshmallows until the marshmallows fully cover the chocolate bars..
- Place the skillet back over the campfire and cook until the marshmallow is golden brown and the chocolate is melted. If you are using the oven method, place the skillet into your oven for 10 minutes until the marshmallow tops are slightly browned (you can then broil at 400 for a few minutes to further brown as needed).
- To prepare the board (you can do this while the skillet is cooking) start laying out the darker cookies, alternating, by working on the outer edge of the platter.
- Next, leaving space for the skillet, arrange the graham crackers circularly around the oreos and cookies.
- .Then place only golden oreos as the last circular layer around the board.
- If your board can take the heat or you use a trivet or similar item, place the skillet on to the board. Then fill in the empty spots with the remaining ingredients.
- Enjoy!
Expert Tip 👉 Using a good cast iron skillet will heat evenly and prevent the s'mores from burning. Also, if possible, serve the s'mores immediately as the cooked ingredients can get soggy after a while.
