    Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is both a chocolate chip cookie and a hazelnut spread filled cookie.
It is like the marriage of two great ideas!

Did you try my recipe for Chocolate Chip Toffee Cake Mix Cookies?

That recipe is for a simple chocolate chip cookie made with cake mix.
This chocolate chip cookie would go great on a cookie tray with that cake mix one!

To make this recipe you will need hazelnut and cocoa spread. You can find a selection of hazelnut and cocoa spreads such as Nutella here.

People often ask is Nutella a peanut butter.

Let me start by saying that Nutella is actually a brand name for a nut spread product.
Because that product brand is so popular, people often use the name for the nut spread recipe.

Nutella is actually a nut spread kind of like peanut butter is.

However, instead of using peanuts, Nutella is made with hazelnuts.
There are other ingredients, including cocoa, that are added to give Nutella spread that wonderful taste.

You may be wondering if you can make Nutella stuffed cookies keto.

Yes but, you will need to make your own hazelnut and cocoa spread that does not have sugar in it.
Also, you would need to make the cookie dough without adding sugar to it.

This recipe, as is, is not keto friendly.

However, you can try subbing in sugar free hazelnut cocoa spread , a keto friendly brown baking sugar, keto chocolate chips, and keto all purpose flour.

Please read the product packaging for directions on how to use it as a substitute before using it.

Tips for making stuffed chocolate chips cookies.

Before you bake these cookies you will need to use a scoop to form the spread into balls that will need to be frozen. You can do this ahead of time if your desired to.

    More tips for you

    1. The frozen spread balls can easily melt in your hands as you place it into the cookie dough. You can stuff the cookies in batches or wear food gloves to help minimize this.
    2. Under-baking these cookies makes them more gooey, which some folks like. However, keep in mind that these cookies do contain eggs.
    3. The cookies should be stored in an airtight container for up to a few days. To keep them soft you can add a new slice of bread to the container daily.

Personalize these stuffed chocolate chip cookies.

This cookies are decadent and delicious just the way they are.
However, you can make them even better.

    Try one of these ideas.

    • Sprinkle sea salt or a similar larger salt on top.
    • Mix in some caramel chocolate chips.
    • Use another kind of nut + cocoa spread such as almond cocoa spread.

About chocolate chip cookies with Nutella stuffing.

This is one of those cookies that is best enjoyed when warm.
Biting into a warm cookie with a gooey flavorful stuffing is a decadent treat.

To make this recipe we will need to first freeze the spread.
Do this by first using a scoop to make individual cookie balls for stuffing.
Then we will place the chocolate chip cookie dough around the frozen stuffing balls.
