    • Pure Vanilla Extract- 1 teaspoon (real or pure vanilla is preferred).
    • Optional- ½ teaspoon of salt.

    Start by adding everything to a pint mason jar per your desired flavor.

    Next. place the metal lid that comes with the mason jars (preferably not plastic lids) on your mason jar. Also, make sure it is closed tightly.

    Then mix your mason jar by shaking it for 5 to 6 minutes. The ice cream should look like it has thickened or doubled in size when it is ready .

    Lastly, make sure again that the lid is sealed on your jar before you place it into the freezer.

    It should take about four hours for the ice cream to harden. However, it is best to keep the ice cream in the freezer overnight for best results.

    You can serve the ice cream in the mason jar or distribute it to individual serving cups.
