- Shortening for pan as well as sugar or flour for dusting.
- Flour- 3 cups, all purpose.
- Ground Cinnamon- 2 teaspoons.
- Nutmeg- ½ teaspoon.
- Salt- 1 teaspoon.
- Baking Powder- 1 ½ teaspoons.
- Sugar- 1 ½ cups.
- Brown Sugar- ½ cup.
- Vegetable Oil- 1 cup.
- Eggs- 3, at room temperature.
- Applesauce- 1 cup, at room temperature.
- Apple Cider- 1 cup, also at room temperature (note: do not use apple cider vinegar).
- Vanilla Extract- 1 teaspoon.
- Butter- ½ cup, for topping, unsalted preferred.
- Sugar- ½ cup, for topping.
- Cinnamon- 2 teaspoons, for topping.
How to make Apple Cider Bundt Cake Recipe
Step One: Prepare for the recipe.
Preheat you oven to 325 degrees.
Double prep the bundt cake pan for best results.
To do this, use shortening, butter, or a good dose of non-stick on the pan, especially and crevices. Then dust the pan with flour. Set the pan aside.
Step Two: Make the cake.
In a medium size bowl, use a fork or a whisk to combine the flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and baking powder. Set this bowl aside.
Next, in a mixing bowl and on medium speed, beat together the sugar, brown sugar, and oil until smooth.
Then add the eggs and continue on medium speed for another minute and a half. You can then add the applesauce and vanilla and mix for another 15 seconds to just combine.
For the next step, we will add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the mixing bowl along with the apple cider.
To do so, set the mixer speed to low and add about half of the dry mixture followed by half of the apple cider
Turn the mixer to low speed and add about ½ of the flour mixture, followed by half of the apple
cider (½ cup). Mix for thirty seconds and then add the remaining of both the dry ingredients and cider, mixing until combined. The batter will be slightly thin.
Transfer the batter to the prepared bundt pan, evenly distributing the combined ingredients.
Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
Step Three: Finish the cake.
Allow the cake to cool for 20 minutes at room temperature.
To remove the cake simply place a large plate or cooling rack over the top of the baked cake and flip it over, using the plate or rack to hold the cake once flipped.
Use a pastry brush to coat the cake with the melted butter.
Then, in a small bowl combine the remaining cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and then distribute it over the cake.
