This Clay Yoda Star Wars DIY Craft is perfect for anyone asking is polymer clay good for beginners.
This clay is easy to use and a favorite for many.
Make a simple Star Wars inspired Yoda craft using Polymer clay.
Polymer clay is a modeling clay used in projects such as this one.
When baked at a low temperature, this clay gets hard.
It is perfect for gifts that anyone can make (ornaments etc).
Here is what you need to make this Yoda craft.
- Parchment Paper
- Rimmed Baking Sheet.
- Polymer Clay.
- Clay cutting and piercing tools (age appropriate).
- Mod podge
- Paint brush
How to make a polymer Yoda.
Step one: prepare the workspace.
Line the rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. This will be your workspace and also for baking.
Get your clay ready to use.
Step two: make the Yoda.
Make the balls that will be used to to construct the body. Use a millimeter ruler to measure.
Roll a brown 6 centimeter ball for the body, 4 centimeter green ball for the head, 2 - 2 centimeter green balls for ears, 2 - ½ centimeter black balls for eyes and 2 - ¼ centimeter green balls for hands.
The brown ball (body- 6cm): Form the brown ball into a cylinder shape that slightly tapers at the top.
Small Green Balls (hands- 2 ¼cm): Form the small green balls into hands and stick to the brown body.
Large Green Balls (head- 4cm): Form the large green ball into a round head shape and use a cutting tool to create a mouth.
Smaller Green Balls (ears- 2 cm): Form the two smaller green balls into triangular shaped ears and attach to the sides of the head
Black Balls (eyes- 2 ½cm): Form the two black balls into eye shapes and attach to the front of the head.
Step three: bake and seal.
Bake your constricted figure as directed on the packaging.
Then allow the figure to fully cool. Finally, seal the figure with the Mod Podge.
