Tips for making clothespin ornaments.

Line up all of your clothespins next to one another and inspect them first.
Choose clothespins that are most alike one another and that are also in good condition (wooden part is what matters).
More tips for you

  1. When you paint your clothespins, paint extra ones. This way you will have alternate pins in case something goes wrong

These painted clothespins are really cute just the way they are.
However, you can also make these even better.

How to make this Easy Clothespin Santa DIY.

Step One: prepare.
Prepare a works station that can be painted on.
Dust off the clothes pins if needed and remove any debris.

Step Two: paint the clothespins.
The top quarter of the clothespin will stay a skin color which means the you do not have to paint it.
Since the bottom quarter will be the Santa boots, paint that black.
Lastly, the center half of the clothespins will be red like a Santa suit.
Allow the clothespins to dry before decorating.

Step Three: decorate.
Start by gluing on the hair and beard. The beard should be in a long triangular shape. The hair should be two equal sized pieces that are glued on opposite sides of the clothespins. Leave about ½" above the beard to glue on the eyes.

Next, glue on the eyes above the beard. Then glue on the bead where a nose should be and the hat on top.

For the Santa belt, glue on a small piece of the black ribbon about ½" below the bottom of the beard.
Then use the gold ribbon or marker to make the buckle.
