These tasty treats are colorful and fun to eat.

Some folks would also argue that these are a nod to the popular 'Blues clues'.

Did you try my my Carrot Cake Rice Krispie Treats

Those krispie treats have been taken up a notch to taste like carrot cake.
I have many more variations on the cereal treat theme as well.

Colorful straws are used to hold the krispie treat paws. You can find the colorful straws here.

This recipe is for you if you are looking for creative cereal treats.

I must say that I have posted and tasted many cereal treat recipes.
This paw shaped cereal treat recipe is about the cutest one.

These krispie treats are especially popular with kids and dog fans.

While you could simply serve these up for a snack or dessert, there are other time that you may want a paw shaped treat.
I am thinking about birthday parties, celebrations, bake sales, or even just to celebrate a pets birthday (please do not share these with your pet).

You may be asking what can I use instead of Rice Krispies.

Certainly Rice Kripie cereal is the most famous crispy cereal that can be used in a recipe such as this one. They pretty much invented the concept of cereal treats made with marshmallows.

However, you could try using another similar cereal to make yours.
For the best results in this recipe, I would stick to a puff rice cereal.
However, make sure that your cereal is crisp rather then chewy as the crisp cereal works best.

    Tips for making marshmallow treats.

Working with the cereal and marshmallow mix can get sticky. I suggest that you spray your hands with a bit of nonstick or use a bit of oleo or oil on your hands.

    More helpful tips for you

    1. When selecting a cookie cutter, I suggest that you stick to something that is not too large to work with. Select a cookie cutter that is large enough to hold you stick or straw and small enough to stay on the stick or straw when eating the treats.
    2. Sometimes it can be difficult to get the stick or straw to stay inside of the paws. If this happens to you, dip the end of the stick into melted chocolate and then stick in back into the paw and allow it to set fully.
    3. When cutting out the paw shapes, first press or pack the krispie treats into the paw. Then gently press the cut out treat from the paw cutter. If there is sticking, try refrigerating the paw cutter or spraying a bit of nonstick on it before cutting out the shapes.

    Personalize your tasty paw treats.

These tasty paw treats are super cute and super fun as they are. Fans of 'Blues clues' can especially enjoy these treats.

Here are some more ways to personalize your treats.

    • While I am using blue food coloring, you can use any food color of your choice. Pink or yellow food coloring for example could be fun.
    • Dress these up like fun cake pops. You can find a variety of sticks, wrappers, and holders for cake pops here.
    • Decorate your paws with fun sprinkles or candies.

How to make Paw Print Krispie Treat Pops

PRO TIP--> Give the microwave safe bowl a quick spray with nonstick before adding the ingredients to help keep the melting marshmallows from sticking to the bowl.

Step 1: make the krispie treats.

    1. Prep a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper that is also sprayed with nonstick spray.
    2. In a large microwave safe bowl, melt the the marshmallows with the butter, stopping to stir every 30 seconds to prevent the marshmallows from sticking to the bowl.
    3. When the marshmallows and butter have melted together you can fully blend in the electric blue gel color (2-3 drops should do it).
    4. Add the cereal to the bowl, half of the cereal at a time, and fully incorporate it into the melted marshmallow mixture.
    5. Transfer the mixture to the prepped baking sheet, evenly distributing the ingredients.
    6. Allow this to sit for 15 minutes.

Cut the paws out and decorate them.

Once the ingredients in the prepped baking sheet have somewhat set, use the cookie cutter to cut out the paws. It is a good idea to have a second baking sheet, that can fit into a freezer, also lined with parchment paper available to place the cut paws onto.

Melt the white candy melts according to the directions. I place mine in a microwave safe bowl and microwave, stopping every 30 seconds to stir until melted.

Dip one end of a stick or straw into the melted white candy and the insert it into the bottom of one of the paws. Repeat this process until all of the paws have a stick or straw in them.

Then transfer the remaining melted candy melts to a piping bag to decorate the paws with paw pads.

Finish and serve the paw treats.

Place the decorated paws with straws or sticks into the freezer to set. This should take about 10-15 minutes. Then carefully remove the paw pops from the parchment paper to serve.
