When selecting potatoes, select starchy potatoes that are able to hold up to air fryer. Russet potatoes and yukon gold potatoes are my go-to potatoes for this recipe.
More tips for you
- You can leave the potato skins on or remove them for this recipe. When I leave the skins on however, I like to first clean my potatoes before using them in a recipe.
- When placing the potato wedges in your air fryer basket, evenly spread them out so that they do not overlap as this can have an effect on even baking. It is better to make the wedges in batches than overlap them.
- The potato wedges can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days in an airtight container to prevent them from getting soggy. You can then easily reheat the potatoes in an air fryer before eating (I do not recommend microwaving leftover potato wedges).
Personalize homemade potato wedges.
These potato wedges are tasty and filling just the way they are.
You can however make yours even better.

How to make Air Fryer Crispy Potato Wedges
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Inactive Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Step One: prepare the potatoes.
Start by cleaning the dirt off of the potatoes as they have grown in the ground. I use a potato scrubber for my potatoes. Also, remove any objects that do not belong on the potato skin.
To slice the potatoes, first cut each potato in half longways. Then cut each of the halves again two more times longways. You should have 16 even-sized wedges. Lastly, place the potato wedges in cold water for 10 minutes. Drain and pat dry the wedges.
Step Two: Prep the potatoes for air frying.
- First pat the remaining water off of the potatoes.
- Place the potato wedges in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the seasonings.
- Spray or toss the potatoes with the oil.
- Now add the seasonings to the bowl with potatoes and fully toss the potatoes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400.
Step Three: air fry the potato wedges.
- Place the wedges in the basket so that they do not overlap.
- Air fry the potatoes for 15 minutes.
- Carefully flip the potato wedges over and air fry until the wedges are crispy on the outside (about 10-15 minutes).
