This is a simple wreath project made with inexpensive materials.
Many of the materials can be found at your local dollar store!

Did you make my Easy Floral Wreath DIY?

That is another easy wreath idea that can me made using inexpensive materials.
Both wreath projects are nice ideas for your front door!

To make this wreath project you will need a 14 inch round wire wreath form. You can find a wire wreath form here.

This project is for anyone looking for things to do with shelf liner or shelf liner crafts.

I am someone who is quite impressed with the many things that can be done with shelf liner.
This is beyond using the shelf liner to actually line your shelf.

When the liner is on the wreath is it may be hard to tell what it is.

This wreath however, is also a pretty durable idea too!
This is because of the materials used to make the shelf liner.

How do you make a dollar store wreath?

Let me start by saying when you purchase your materials from a dollar store, you should expect something simple, cheap, and easy. This is not to say that it will not turn out okay.

I like to purchase some items from a dollar store and other items from a craft or other store.

There are many things that are just as good from the dollar store as they are from somewhere else .
Feel free to purchase your materials where you want to purchase them from.

Tips for making a shelf liner wreath.

If this is your first time making this project, I suggest that you purchase additional materials.
This is because you never know when you will need a second try with something.

More tips for you

  1. Using dollar store liners work well in this project as they are a good size. When you go to cut your liners, keep the wrapper on them to hold them together.
  2. If you find that the 'accordions' are not holding together, try using something to hold them together. Pipe cleaners or zip ties may work.
  3. I like to work clockwise around the wreath form. Doing so helps me keep everything in place better.

Personalize your homemade wreath.

These homemade wreaths are nice the way they are.
However, you can make yours even better.
Try one of these ideas.

  • Use holiday colors to make a holiday themed wreath.
  • You can add flowers or elements to make your wreath more interesting.
  • Use a shaped form rather than a round one.

How to make an Easy Farmhouse Welcome Wreath

Step One: prepare.

If you are making your own welcome sign, you may want to do this first.
This will make it easier to add the sign to the finished wreath.

Prepare the wreath form by removing any tags or labels.

Step Two: cut the shelf liner into pieces.

The shelf liner pieces should be cute into squares that are six inches by six inches.
Using a ruler or a piece of cardboard cut to size is suggest.

Step Three: construct the wreath.

Fold the first square into an accordion. Weave that first accordion through the wreath form starting at the top of the wreath. You will be wrapping the squares through one of the middle wire sections. Continue with the remaining squared working your way around the wreath clockwise. You can alternate colors as desired. If the squares have difficulty staying in place you can use pipe cleaners or wire ties to hold them in place.

When you are finished adding the shelf liner squares to the wreath, turn the wreath over.
Attach the jute twine if needed as a loop to hang the wreath using a glue gun or simply tying it in place.
