Save a few extra M&Ms from the mixing bowl. The saved M&M's can be used to press into the just baked cookies to make them look even better!
Here are some more helpful tips for you.
- To create a flatter and more round cookie, tap the tray holding the cookies on the counter a couple of times just after taking them out of the oven. You can then 'reshape' the cookies by placing a round cookie cutter around the cookies to shape the sides.
- To make a better tasting and more moist cookie that holds shape, use real butter rather than an alternative. The butter should be at room temperature, as should the egg, before adding them to this recipe.
- Always use fresh ingredients. Not only is this true for dairy ingredients, dry ingredients too- especially your baking soda!
How do you store monster cookies?
Leftover cookies, if you should have any, can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature. They should keep for up to five days.

How to make Monster M&M Candy Cookies
To make these cookies we first have to make the dough.
The dough will need to chill in the refrigerator in which should help to keep the candy from melting.
- In a medium bowl, use a whisk or a fork to mix together the flour and the baking soda.
- Next, in a mixing bowl, beat together the melted butter and the brown sugar until creamy- about one minute on low to medium speed.
- Beat in the flour mixture from the first bowl as well as the egg and vanilla, mixing until just blended. Then fold in the M&M candy by hand.
- Cover the mixing bowl loosely with a clean kitchen towel and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. You can even refrigerate the dough overnight if needed.
- When you are ready to make your cookies, preheat the oven to 350 and prep two baking sheets for nonstick. I am a fan of parchment paper.
- Use a two tablespoon or larger scoop to scoop to scoop dough on to the prepped baking sheets. Leave enough room for the cookies to spread when they are in the oven.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the edges begin to brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet before removing them. You can sprinkle the optional salt as well as press in additional candies at this time
