Tips for making the best Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes
My cupcakes were baked in a standard size 12 cup cupcake pan. While you could us a jumbo cupcake pan or mini cupcake pan, keep in mind that the baking times can vary.
- My cupcakes were made with basic black and white Oreo cookies. You can however use another sandwich cookie or flavor of cookie.
- For better ingredient blending your cream cheese should be softened to room temperature and you eggs should also be at room temperature.
- Make the filling chocolaty by adding a small amount of unsweetened cocoa powder. You may need to add a small amount of extra dairy to balance it out.
- To make the crust you will first need to crush the cookies. You can do this in a food processor, good blender, or by placing the cookies in a large zip top bag and rolling a rolling pin over the bag to crush the cookies .
- When you press the crushed cookies into place in the muffin cups, you can use something to help your press them into place. I like to use the back of cookie scoop that has been lightly sprayed with nonstick for example.
- Adding additional crushed cookies to the batter can give this cookies even more flavor and texture.

- Start by preheating your oven to 325 and preparing your cupcake pan for nonstick. Using liners works well for me in a recipe such as this one.
- Crush all but six of the sandwich cookies into crumbs (with the centers) using your method of choice. A food processor or strong blender can do this.
- Place one cup of the ground-up cookies into a mixing bowl. Then add the melted butter and mix the ingredients until combined and crumbly.
- Use a cookie scoop or similar item to distribute the mixture into each of the cupcake liners, pressing it place to make the crust.
- To make the filling, in a clean mixing bowl. combined together the softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, sugar, egg. and remaining ground cookies. Mix until combined.
- Break six more cookies into small chunks and fold them into the mixture.
- Use a scoop or similar item to fill each of the cupcake liners about ¾ths of the way full with the mixture.
- Gently tap the cupcake pan on your counter to even out the batter and help remove air bubbles. Then bake the cupcakes for 25-30 minutes or until the center is no longer jiggling.
- Before taking the cupcakes out of the oven, prop open the oven door and let the cupcakes sit inside the oven for 15 minutes. Then transfer the cupcake pan to a wire cooking rack to finish setting.
Expert Tip👉 Once your cupcakes get to room temperature, you can place them in your refrigerator for quicker setting. The cupcakes are ready to serve when they are firm.
How to store leftover cupcakes.
Once the cupcakes have fully cooled and set, they can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, these cupcakes should keep for up to a few days when refrigerated.
