    These white chocolate coated treats taste like tasty chocolate cookies with a balance of sweet creamy goodness.

    These are small, bite-sized treats made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and powdered sugar. They are often dipped in chocolate and decorated with festive sprinkles.

    This is a simple four ingredient recipe for bite sized treats made with crushed Oreo cookies.
    Once the truffles are are rolled into shape, we will cover them with white melted chocolate and sprinkles.

    • Places these on a skewer with some fruit for a fun dessert.
    • Add a truffle to an ice cream cone or on top of a sundae for an added treat.
    • In individual candy wrappers or cups for people to take on the go.
    • Use toothpicks to attach truffle balls to another dessert such as a cake for decoration.

    Ingredients needed to make Patriotic Oreo Cookie Truffle Ball

    • Oreo Cookies. For best results, use regular rather than double stuffed version. .
    • Cream Cheese. The cream cheese should softened to room temperature so that it can easily blend with the other ingredients. It should also be cut into eight pieces.
    • White Chocolate Chips. The white chocolate chips will be melted according to the packaging when we are ready to cover the truffle balls. Melting chocolate or almond bark can alternatively be used.
    • Patriotic Sprinkles. Red, white, and blue sprinkles can be found here.


    Expert Tip 👉 Tip: If using candy melts, add vegetable shortening or coconut oil to the candy as it melts. This makes the candy spread move evenly and creates a smoother shell around the truffle.

    How to make 4th of July Oreo Truffles.

    Step One : prepare.

    Line a rimmed baking sheet with wax or parchment paper.
    The rimmed baking sheet will be your work space. Also, gather your ingredients.

    👉Note that the white chocolate does not have to be melted until the third step of this recipe.

    Step Two: form the truffle balls..

    1. In a food processor, or really good blender, process the cookies (intact) until the cookies turn into crumbs.
    2. Add the cream cheese chunks to the food processor and process until the ingredients form a ball.
    3. Use a runner spatula to scrape down the sides of the food processor as needed.
    4. Using a small cookie scoop, scoop out the dough and then use your hands to roll the dough into a smooth ball.
    5. Place the complete truffle on to the prepared baking sheet and repeat the process until all of the truffles have been made.
    6. Refrigerate the truffles for an hour to set.

    Expert tip👉 place the truffles in your freezer for 20 minutes to set if you are short on time.

    Step Three: Finish the truffles.

    1. Melt the chocolate chips according to the packaging directions. You can stir in a teaspoon or two of coconut oil if needed to smooth it out.
    2. When the chocolate has a creamy consistency, use a fork to dip the Oreo balls into the melted chocolate and in the other hand, use a spoon to help cover the truffle ball.
    3. Dip each truffle ball into the melted chocolate and then tap it to remove the excess chocolate. Place the cookie ball on the prepared cookie sheet, leaving space between each truffle, and immediately decorate with sprinkles.
    4. Lastly, Oreo truffle balls in the refrigerator to set before serving (about an hour).

    Expert Tip 👉 How to freeze these truffle balls.
    1. Prepare the cookie balls as directed and place on the baking sheet.
    2. Put the baking sheet into the freezer until the cookie balls are frozen.
    3. Transfer the cookie balls to an airtight container. Seal and freeze for up to 6 months.
