- Butter. The butter is melted with the marshmallows to make the treat cake base.
- Marshmallows. Use mini marshmallows for this recipe.
- Vanilla. Added for flavor.
- Rice Krispie Cereal. Feel free to use another cereal if desired.
- Fruity Pebbles. Added for color and flavor.
For the frosting.
- Butter. The butter should be at room temperature.
- Powdered Sugar. Added for structure.
- Vanilla Extract. You can omit the extract if you are using a flavored fluff.

How to make Peeps Rice Krispie Treats Cake.
Step One: prepare.
Prepare a 9" round pie or similar plant for nonstick. Place parchment paper over the pan and spray that as well.
Step Two: make the Krispie treat cake base.
- In a microwave- safe bowl, (or you can use the stovetop method) melt the butter and marshmallows, carefully stopping to stir every 45 seconds until melted.
- Stir in the vanilla and cereal until combined.
- Transfer the combined ingredients to the prepared pan.
- Evenly spread the mixture into place in the pan, pressing it in.
- Allow the cake to set at room temperature (about 45 minutes to an hour).
Expert Tip 👉Use the backside of a rubber spatula to help you press the mixture into the prepared pan. Greasing or spraying the spatula with a bit of nonstick can help prevent the sticking.
Step Three: add the frosting and toppings.
- Beat together the butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy. Then add two to three drops of the blue coloring and mix until combined.
- Use a rubber spatula to fold in the marshmallow fluff.
- To frost the cake you can use an icing spatula or piping bag using the marshmallow frosting.
