Did you make my Make Minions out of Flower Pots craft?

That is another easy craft idea for turning a clay pot into something fun. Like with this project, that one is also inspired by a popular character.

To make this project you will need terra cotta (or terracotta) clay pots. You can find a variety of terra cotta pots here.

    What is Hocus Pocus?

The term 'Hocus Pocus' was often used to describe the spells made by 'witches' in fictional depictions such as movies and books. Sometimes a witch would say "Hocus Pocus" while casting a spell in these depictions.

However, these days, the term is most associated with a popular fictional movie of the same name. In that movie there is a black cat that is also the inspiration for this project. 🐱

Tips for making a black cat clay pot.

My cat was made using a 3.5ā€ clay pot. You can really use any size if you desire to.

    More tips for you

    1. If you have issues with the googly eyes staying in place, try attaching a clear water bottle cap to the pot first and then glue the eyes on to that.
    2. There is a bit of painting that needs to get done for this project. Make sure that the paint gets fully dry before going on to the next step.
    3. Hot glue really works best at getting everything to stick quickly. However, you can use a tacky or craft glue instead if you can wait for it to fry.
    4. My clay pots have been turned upside down so that you can attach the ears to the top. Feel free to not turn yours upside down so that they can be used to hold something...such as candy šŸ™‚ .

    Personalize your Black Cat Craft.

Yes, this flower pot black cat is cute just the way it is. However, you can make yours even better.

    Try one of these ideas.

    • Paint your can a different color other than black.
    • Use different ears from the ones that I am providing in the template.
    • Make paws for your kitty using felt or cardboard.
