Tips for making the best champagne cupcakes

A moist cake mix can make your cupcakes even better. Also, when selecting a flavor, make sure that it will go well with your champagne.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. For purely non-alcoholic cupcakes, use an alcohol free champagne.
    2. 'Cheap' champagnes can work just as well as the expensive brands. Your champagne should be at room temperature for optimal blending however.
    3. When combining your cupcake ingredients, mix them until just combined. That means do not over mix the cake batter as this can hinder the texture of your cupcakes.
    4. Preheat your oven and place the cupcakes in the center of the oven to help them evenly bake. Rotating them midway through baking also helps them baked evenly.
    5. Allow the cupcakes to fully cool before frosting them. The frosting can be spread over the cooled cupcakes instead of piping.

How to make Cake Mix Champagne Cupcakes

    Prep Time: 15 minutes.
    Bake Time: 18-20 minutes.
    Makes: 24 cupcakes.

    1. Prepare. Preheat your oven to 350 and prep your cupcake pan for nonstick. Liners work well in a recipe such as this one.
    2. Mix. In a large mixing bowl, use a whisk to combine together your cake mix, champagne, oil, and eggs. Then use a cookie scoop or similar item to transfer the mixed ingredients to the cupcakes liners, filling them about ⅔ full.
    3. Bake. Bake your cupcakes for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Then carefully remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them sit in the pan for five minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to fully cool.
    4. Frosting. Beat together the butter and powdered sugar until combined. Then add the remaining ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy. If you need to make ingredient adjustments for texture, do so slowly.
    5. Frost. Once your cupcakes have fully cooled, you can transfer your frosting to piping bag to frost the cupcakes. A frosting knife can alternatively be used to frost your cupcakes.

Expert Tip 👉 Your cupcakes are baked through when they spring back when lightly touched in the center. Alternatively, a toothpick can be inserted into the center of a cupcake.

When properly stored, these cupcakes should keep for up to three days at room temperature or up to five days when refrigerated. You can freeze unfrosted cupcakes for up to a few months.
