This is a simple craft idea for turning part of an egg carton into a bat.
Also, this project is suitable for most ages.
Most of the materials used in this project can be purchased at a dollar or discount store.
A glue gun can be used to attach the elements. However, you can alternatively use glue, allowing for it to dry.
Materials needed to make this egg carton bat.
- Egg Carton Use a cardboard not Foam or Plastic
- Acrylic Craft Paint – Black .
- Wiggle or Googly Eyes
- White Paint Marker, Fine Tip
- Twine or ribbon.
- Also needed, Scissors, Glue Gun and Glue Sticks, Paintbrush and a Pencil.
How to make an Easy Egg Carton Bat Craft DIY.
This project can be made in under 30 minutes.
Step One: prepare.
- Gather all of the needed materials and then remove the debris, packaging and labels.
- Remove the lid from the carton and then divide the tray half of the carton into four sections (one wide by three long).
- To make the wings, cut the outer two egg holders in scallop edges that are half as big as the holder.
- Leave the center egg holder as is.
- Lastly, for the ears, cut out two small triangles from the remaining carton or from a piece cardboard.
Step Two: paint the bat.
- Paint the bat bodies and ears using black acrylic craft paint.
- Let paint dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.
- Allow the paint to dry.
Expert Tip👉 When painting the bat, make sure that you paint the inside and outside of the bat pieces.
Step Three: finish making the bat.
- Glue two of the googly or wiggle eyes on to the center sectionof the bat.
- Next, draw a mouth and two fangs using your fine tip white paint marker.
- Lastly, add a bow or a ribbon to the bottom of the center section.
