This is a simple recipe for making white chocolate coated Oreo cookie truffles.
To make this recipe you will need Oreo sandwich cookies.
These truffle are made by first crushing the cookies into crumbs.
Then we will combine the cookies with other ingredients to help add flavor and keep the shape of the truffles. Lastly, we will cover the truffles with melted white chocolate.
Ingredients needed to make White Chocolate Oreo Truffles
- Oreo Cookies. For best results, use regular rather than double stuffed version. .
- Cream Cheese. The cream cheese should be cold and cut into cubes.
- White Chocolate Chips. The white chocolate chips should be melted according to the packaging.
- Mini Oreo Cookies. To place on top of each truffle.
- Hershey's Kisses. These go in the center of the truffles for added goodness!.
How to make White Chocolate Oreo Truffles
Step One: prepare.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet that with wax paper or parchment paper. I suggest that you use a baking sheet that can fit into your refrigerator
- Unwrap the chocolate kisses.
- Assemble the remaining ingredients.
Expert Tip👉 The chocolate kiss candy is an optional addition to these truffles. You could alternatively add another kind of candy, cookie, or nothing at all.
Step Two: make the truffle dough.
- In a food processor, pulse 24 whole Oreo cookies until the mixture becomes a fine cookie crumbs (about 30-40 seconds).
- Next, add the cubed cream cheese to the food processor and pulse until the mixture reaches a cookie dough consistency (about 30 seconds).
- Use a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides of your food processor.
Step Three: make the truffles.
- Use a cookie scoop to scoop out the ingredients
- Place a candy kiss in the center and use your hands to roll the dough into a ball, with the kiss in the center.
- Place the complete truffle on to the prepared baking sheet and repeat the process until all of the truffles have been made.
- Refrigerate the truffles for an hour to set.
Expert tip👉 place the truffles in your freezer for 20 minutes to set if you are short on time.
Step Four: Finish the truffles.
- Melt the chocolate chips according to the packaging directions. You can stir in a teaspoon or two of coconut oil if needed to smooth it out.
- When the chocolate has a creamy consistency, use a fork to dip the Oreo balls into the melted chocolate and in the other hand, use a spoon to help cover the truffle ball.
- Place the chocolate covered truffle back on to the baking sheet (leaving space between each) , place a mini Oreo cookie on top of the Oreo ball and repeat with the remaining truffle balls.
- Lastly, Oreo truffle balls in the refrigerator for one hour at least before serving.
