Tips for making the best cosmic brownie.
These brownies get their color and chocolate flavor from the using unsweetened cocoa powder. When selecting your unsweetened cocoa powder, select one that is fresh and of good quality for best results.
More helpful tips for you.
- Use quality ingredients that are fresh and at the optimal temperature for use. This is especially true with your dry ingredients and your eggs.
- Resist the urge to over-mix the ingredients. When combining your wet and dry ingredients, mix them until just combined.
- For added flavors and texture you can consider ingredient add-ins such as chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
- I sometimes like to line my baking pan with parchment paper that overhangs the edges of the pan. This not only makes it easier to clean up my mess, it makes it easier to remove the cooled brownies for slicing.
- Your brownies are done baking when the edges are set. The center will be a bit soft but, that is okay as it should set while the brownies cool.
- Lastly, allow the brownies to fully cool before adding the chocolate ganache frosting and slicing.

Carefully add in the the chocolate chips and then let the mixture sit for for a couple of minutes before mixing until smooth. You can then pour or evenly spread the ganache over the fully cooled brownies and top with the candies.

Once the brownies have fully set, they can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, cosmic brownies should keep for about three days when refrigerated or up to three months when frozen. You can individually wrap the brownies for easier serving.
