How to make Nutter Butter Angel Cookies.
Prep time: 15 minutes.
Active Time: 15 minutes.
Yield: 12 cookies (angels).
Step One prepare.
First, line one or two baking sheets with wax paper. Then, select 12 cookies that are intact.
Step Two:Step Two: melt the wafers or almond bark and dip the cookies.
Start by melting your wafers or almond bark according to the directions on the packaging. However, I melt mine in a microwave safe bowl, stopping to stir every 20 seconds, until smooth and melted. Adding a teaspoon of coconut oil can smooth out your melted chocolate if needed.
Next, you can use a dipper, fork, or spoon to dip each pretzel into the chocolate (allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl). Place the pretzels on to the prepared sheets in pairs so the their bottoms are touching (this will be the wings)
Repeat the dipping process with the cookies, placing the dipped cookies on top of the touching bottoms of the pretzels. The angels should look like peanuts with '8's' on each side.
Expert Tip👉 Use one hand to dip the cookies and then the other hand to use a spoon to guide the melted chocolate over the cookie to thus fully coat it.
Step Three: add the elements.
To attach the candy, place a couple of dots of the melted chocolate where the halo will go. Then place the candy on top of the dots. For the eyes and mouth, simply draw those on with the brown icing/gel using a toothpick if needed. Lastly, transfer your cookies to your refrigerator for about five minutes to set.
