Tips for making the best homemade holiday fudge.
White chocolate wafers were used to make my fudge. Feel free to use another wafer or chips such as chocolate or peanut butter chips instead.
More helpful tips for you.
- My fudge was made in an 8x8" square pan. For thinner and more fudge pieces, you can use a 9X9" pan and for thicker fudge use a 6X6" pan.
- Vanilla extract is used to give this fudge a nice flavor. You can alternatively use another extract such as peppermint extract or maple extract instead.
- Parchment paper that hangs over the sides of the baking pan can be used so that you can easily use the sides of the paper to lift the fudge from the pan for slicing and serving.
- Make sure that your fudge is fully set before cutting into portions. Test the center of the fudge using the backside of a spoon to make sure that it has set.
- Can you add additional ingredients? For an extra salt or crunch, try stirring in chopped nuts or broken up pretzels. Or, for holiday seasons, you can add some holiday themed candy
- What if my fudge does not set? Freezing your fudge helps to speed up the setting process. If your fudge is still too soft to eat, it could be because there was an inconsistency in measuring the ingredients.
