What makes peppermint fudge so good?

Peppermint fudge is easy to make with just four ingredients and is a perfect decadent treat especially during the holiday season.

I like that it takes just four common ingredients to make this recipe.

Have you tried my recipe for 4 Ingredient Christmas Fudge?

Made with white chocolate melting wafers and holiday sprinkles, that festive fudge is rich and sweet, making it perfect for sharing with others. Both this recipe for peppermint fudge and that recipe for Christmas fudge are easy to make fudge recipes that are perfect for sharing with others.

To make this recipe you will need crushed candy canes. You can find crushed candy canes here.

What you need to make peppermint fudge

    • Sweetened Condensed Milk Helps to smooth out the texture of the fudge. Condensed coconut milk can alternatively be used and will give the fudge that coconut flavor.
    • Milk Chocolate Chips Used for the bottom layer.
    • White Chocolate Chips Use white chocolate chips that are made with cocoa butter for best results.
    • Candy Canes To crush the candy canes simply place them into a zip top bag and roll a rolling pin over them.

    How to make peppermint fudge

    • Prep Time: 15 minutes .
    • Servings: 16 .
    • How to Serve: Cut into squares for servings.
    • Notes: You will need a square baking pan or dish and 2 microwave safe bowls to make this recipe .

    1. Prepare. Gather and measure your ingredients. Also, line your baking dish or pan with parchment paper that hangs over the edges of the pan or dish.
    2. Bowls. Divide the condensed milk in half, placing each half into the two microwave safe bowls.
    3. Milk Chocolate Place the milk chocolate chips into the first microwave safe bowl. Microwave the ingredients, stopping to stir every 30 seconds, until the ingredients have melted together. Then carefully evenly spread the melted ingredients into the bottom of your prepared baking pan (or dish). Let the ingredients get to room temperature and then place them into the refrigerator to fully set (about an hour).
    4. White Chocolate. Once the ingredients in the refrigerator have set you can take the baking pan/dish out of the refrigerator. Then place the white chocolate chips into the remaining bowl and repeat the process for melting that you did for the milk chocolate. Evenly spread the melted white chocolate over the set milk chocolate layer.
    5. Crushed Candy Canes. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the warm layer of white chocolate. Then let it get to room temperature and refrigerate to set again.
    6. Serve. Once the fudge has set you can use the overhanging parchment paper to lift the set fudge out of the pan or dish. Slice the fudge in half and continue to slice the halves in half until you have 16 servings.

Tips for making the best peppermint fudge.

Red candy canes were used to top my fudge. For more color you can use green candy canes with or instead of the red ones.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. I mentioned that using white chocolate chips that are made with cocoa butter is essential to making a good fudge. When white chips are not made with cocoa butter they do not melt evenly and consistently enough for fudge.
    2. My ingredients were heating in the microwave. You can alternatively use the stovetop to melt your ingredients.
    3. For additional flavor you can add a half teaspoon of peppermint extract to the white or milk chocolate layers.
