How to make Air Fryer Monkey Bread Muffins
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes per batch
Step One: prepare the biscuit dough and liners.
Remove the biscuits from the cans, separate them, and then cut each biscuit into quarters. Also, prep your jumbo silicone muffin liners with a bit of nonstick spray for an easy clean up.
Expert Tip👉 Use as many liners as you can fit into your air fryer, leaving space between liners for the air to circulate.
Step Two: prepare the ingredients.
- Combine together the granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon in a large zip top kitchen bag.
- Place a quarter of the biscuit pieces into the bag, seal the bag, toss the ingredients together, and then place the coated biscuit pieces on to the prepared liners to form muffins. Repeat this process with the remaining biscuit pieces.
- When all of the pieces of biscuit dough that can fit on to your liners have been coated and placed into the liners, place the filled liners into the air fryer basket.
Expert Tip👉 When filling the muffin liners with the prepared biscuit pieces, fill the liners to about three quarters full. You can gently press the pieces in place to help them stick together.
Step Three: air fry the muffins.
- Use a fork or a whisk to combine together the melted butter with the brown sugar.
- Drizzle the butter and brown sugar mixture over the muffins, reserving half of the melted butter mixture for use after air frying.
- Allow the muffins to sit for three minutes so that the mixture can seep into the muffins. You can preheat your air fryer to 350.
- Air fry the muffins for 10 minutes or until the tops are crispy on the outside and the center appears to be fully baked.
- Allow the air fried muffins to cool to room temperature before removing them from the liners.
- Drizzle the remaining brown sugar and butter mixture over the muffins before serving.
Expert Tip👉 Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make this recipe in batches. You can make this easier to do by preparing your second batch while the first batch is air frying.
