Easy tips for using an air fryer.
Air fryers are a simple and convenient method used to cook foods.
Because of the small size of an air fryer, in comparison to an oven, warm air is able to circulate quickly to cook or bake foods.
The secret to cooking foods in an air fryer it to not assume that cooking in an air fryer is the same as cooking in an oven or microwave.
• Like with any other kitchen appliance, carefully refer to the manual that came with it for best practices.
• While it may be tempting to use a nonstick spray in your air fryer, it is not recommended as it can ruin the basket. You can use an air fryer liner or certain oil sprays instead.
• Preheating your air fryer can help your food cook more evenly.
• Avoid overcrowding the food in the basket as the food needs the space for the warm air to circulate to cook it.
• Clean the basket after each use to prevent residue buildup which can ruin future recipes and possible cause an issue the air fryer.
• Invest in air fryer accessories so that you can enjoy making more amazing recipes!
Tips making chex mix in an air fryer
The trick for making a good Chex mix at home is to first mix the dry ingredients. Then, evenly distribute the wet ingredients (melted butter...) over those dry ingredients.
More tips for you
- Overcrowding the ingredients can result in uneven air frying results. If you have a small air fryer, or have double this recipe (why not?) you may want to consider making more than one batch.
- After air frying, I like to transfer my check mix to a rimmed baking sheet that is lined with paper towels while it cools. Doing this allows the Chex mix to completely dry out and become more crispy.
- Store the Chex mix in an airtight container or zip top bag at room temperature. If your mix gets soft within a few days you can try placing into a preheated oven at low temperature for a few minutes to get it crispy again.

Try one of these ideas.
- I always like to use a variety of cereals rather than one flavor as they come in different colors and flavors.
- Once your mix has cooled you can add in your favorite extras such as nuts, pretzels, bagel chips, popcorn, and or sweet stuff such as candy.
- Do you have to use Chex cereal? Use whatever cereal you like best. I have used Cheerios in my mix.

Step One: prepare ingredients.
In a really large bowl, combine together the Cereal(s), pretzels, peanuts, and oyster crackers. Use a ladle or a couple of large wooden spoons to toss the ingredients.
Step Two: season the mixture.
- In a small saucepan on medium heat, melt the butter.
- Once your butter has melted you can carefully whisk in the seasonings and the worcester sauce.
- Pour half of the butter mixture over the ingredients in the bowl. Then repeat the process with the remaining butter mixture.
