Certainly there is more kind of slime. This however, is the good tasting kind of slime.

The slime that is used to fill these cupcakes is really basically pudding that has food dye added to make it green. Green slime is often associated with monsters and Halloween and thus, the popularity of a slime filled monster cupcake.

How do you make slime cupcakes?

It is a lot easier than you may think it to be. What you should know is that the slime is the filling that is added to the cupcakes.

First you will need to core out the baked and cooled cupcakes and then you can add the 'slime' to the centers. The cores are then covered and the cupcakes are decorated as desired.

Chocolate Slime Filled Halloween Cupcakes

How to make Chocolate Slime Filled Halloween Cupcakes,

Prep time: 10 mins
Active Time: 8-10 mins

Yield 18 cupcakes

Step One: prepare

Bake or purchase 18 average sized chocolate cupcakes. Allow the cupcakes to fully cool.
Also, fit a piping bag with a tip 1M.

Step Two: prepare the slime.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the pudding mix with the cold milk until smooth. Add three drops of the green food coloring and whisk until fully incorporated, about two minutes. Allow this to rest for five minutes while you prepare the frosting.

Step Three: prepare the frosting.

To prepare the frosting, first divide the frosting in half. Then add enough of the brown food coloring to dye half of the frosting brown. Once it is brown mix in a few drops of the black food dye.

Step Four: fill the cupcakes with slime.

  1. Using paring knife or similar utensil, carefully core out the center of each cupcake (from the top of the cupcake).
  2. Use a teaspoon to fill each of the cupcake cores with slime.
  3. Replace the cupcake that you removed to make the core, gently pressing it into place as needed. You probably will not use all of the cored pieces.

Step five: frost the cupcakes.

Add the frosting made in step three to the piping bag and frosting the tops of the cupcakes to cover the replaced cores. Then decorate the cupcakes as desired with the sprinkles and edible eyes.
