    • Toasted oat cereal. This includes a round shaped basic oat grain cereal such as Cheerios.
    • Square corn cereal. Chex corn flavored cereal offers the shape and the flavor that works well in this recipe.
    • Pretzels. These add both a salty crunchy element as well as shape that is unique to the other ingredients. Use bite sized pretzels such as twists or sticks.
    • Peanuts. Roasted and salted add a perfect crunch and flavor for this recipe. You can add other kinds of nuts, such as cashews or walnuts, as well.
    • Chocolate Coated Candies. These candies add chocolate flavor to balance out the salty stuff in addition to color to the mix.
    • White Chocolate Chips. Use good quality white chocolate chips that can melt well (not the baking kind as they are intended to hold their shape when heated).

How to make Easy White Chocolate Snack Mix

    Prep Time: 15 minutes.
    Bake Time: 5 minutes
    Yield: about 15 servings.

    Step One: prepare the workspace.

    • Line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment or wax paper.
    • Gather and measure your ingredients.
    • Have a large mixing bowl and a microwave-safe bowl ready for use.

Expert Tip👉 Preparing your workspace ahead of time will make the steps in this recipe easier to follow.

    Step Two: prepare the ingredients.

    • In a large mixing bowl, toss together the cereals and the nuts. Then toss in half of the chocolate candies.
    • Next, in a microwave safe bowl, melt together the white chocolate with the oil until smooth, stopping to stir every 15 seconds.
    • Once the white chocolate has fully melted, carefully drizzle half of it over the ingredients in the bowl. Toss the ingredients and then add the remaining melted chocolate and toss the ingredients again. You can use a large spoon to make sure that all of the ingredients have been coated with the white chocolate.

Expert Tip👉 Your white chocolate can also be melted using the double broiler method.

Step Three: finish making the snack mix.

    • Evenly spread the coated mix over the rimmed baking sheets.
    • Top the ingredients with the remaining candies, sprinkles, and/or additional ingredients as desired. Then allow the ingredients to fully set (this can take up to an hour depending on the humidity in your home and how thick the melted chocolate is).
    • Lastly, once the mix has fully set, use your hands to break the mix into pieces that are easy to eat by hand. Two the three inch sized pieces work well for snacking.

Expert Tip👉 This snack mix should be stored at room temperature in an airtight container. When properly stored, this snack mix should keep for up to a couple of weeks. Freezing is not recommended.
