Tips for making the best 7up soda biscuits.
Using fresh ingredients is essential to the success of this recipe. This is especially true with the baking mix as it contains leavening agents.
More helpful tips for you.
- Using real butter is preferred for both melting and for flavor.
- The dough can get sticky when you work with it. Dusting your dough with small amounts of additional baking mix can help make it easier to work with.
- Avoid adding too much additional baking mix however, as it can through off the balance of ingredients resulting in less than fluffy biscuits.
- Your biscuits are done baking when the tops turn a golden brown. If the insides seem a bit 'doughy', you can turn the oven off and let the biscuits sit in it for a few more minutes.
- After removing the biscuits from your oven you will need to let them sit in the pan to absorb the melted butter before serving.

How to make Easy 7up Biscuits
Prep Time: 30 minutes .
Bake Time : 10 -12 minutes .
Servings : 12 biscuits .
- Butter. The biscuits will be baked in melted butter. Start by preheating your oven to 425. Place your butter into a 9X13" baking dish and then place the baking dish into your oven for the butter to melt. Keep an eye on the melting butter when you move on to the next couple of steps as you will need to remove the baking dish from the oven when the butter has melted.
- Combine. While the butter is melting, in a mixing bowl, combine together the remaining ingredients (baking mix, soda, and sour cream) until the dough is able to hold together and is 'sticky'.
- Dough. Lightly dust a clean work surface with additional bisquick and then transfer your dough to the work surface. Turn the dough a few time, adding a small amount of additional mix as needed for the sticky dough. When you are able to do so (the dough is workable), gently press the dough into a large circle that is about an inch thick.
- Cut. Use a round cookie cutter or biscuit cutter to cut out 12 biscuits.
- Bake. Place each of the biscuits into the baking dish with the melted butter. Bake the biscuits for 10-12 minutes or until the tops turn a golden brown.
- Set. Let your biscuits set in the baking dish while absorbing any remaining melted butter before serving.
Expert Tip 👉 This recipe can be made in a baking dish or a baking pan. A baking pan will bake faster than a baking dish so it is best to keep an eye on your biscuits after about eight minutes of baking.
